In time

One seed, two men – three lives and a burgeoning beginning!

One day, two tree-keepers (performed by Andy Manley and Claus Mandøe) receive a small seed that they have to plant and care for during its growth. But taking care of something so frail and new is no easy task. So begins In Time, a story gently animating the simplicity and complexity of life for children and adults alike.

The two tree-keepers have to feel their way in their new roles and everyday life, whose small tasks and many routines bring about plenty of big emotions and important moments. They embark on the task with equal part enthusiasm, childlike stubbornness and parental pride. But how does one measure well-being and progress? By centimetres? By number of leaves?

The story revolves around a tall and marvellous wooden furniture cabinet with numerous hidden hooks, drawers and cupboards full of objects that fit right into our everyday chores. while at the same time offering a glimse of the magical, the familiar and the unusual go hand in hand.

Claus and Andy are both two long time collaborators of ours, co-creaters of shows like Night Light and Goodbye Mr. Muffin. We are delighted to be working together again, combining their creative minds and great acting with Teater Refleksion’s special dedication to animating objects and visually whole performances.

”In Time is something quite unusual – a completely quiet, thought-provoking performance for 3-7-year-olds, with a quirky universe that’s highly captivating for adults too. It has room for thought, spontaneous laughter and a constant curiosity about the contents of the next drawer.”
